The Magnolia House Foundation

The Magnolia House Motel, Inc. was officially established as a foundation in 2009.

When Sam and Kimberly Pass first acquired the property called the Magnolia House Motel, it was not their idea to just renovate the building to live there. The idea of sharing the historic landmark with the entire community was their first thought.

Both Sam and Kimberly grew up in an era when respect for parents, elders and the community at large was required. When high family values, work ethics at a young age, and being neatly dressed and well groomed was the expected norm.

The generation of young people today has lost much of those survival skills and disciplines. It is the commitment of the Magnolia House Foundation to make a significant impact upon this generation by creating programs in a historically significant setting that was once the pride of the African-American community
